Hello Toronto is a grassroots initiative that seeks to invite friendly conversation between strangers. Walking down the streets or while taking transit, how often do you say hello or are greeted by a stranger?Through simple acts of kindness and engagement, Hello Toronto is starting a movement to make the city a more welcoming place. With the simple request to get to know the people around you and say ‘hello’!
On 100in1Day we piloted the idea in Trinity Bellwoods park and on the back of the 501 Streetcar heading eastbound from Roncesvalles. By inviting Torontonians to sit on the cozy Hello Toronto Bench or join each other in the back nook of TTC streetcars, Hello Toronto volunteers facilitated a discussion around the concept of saying ‘hello’ to strangers, amongst strangers. This simple act can happen anywhere. We hope to start a movement to make public spaces a bit more friendly!
These interactions were be documented and shared at the permission of the participants.
This looked like it was a ton of fun! Thank you for being part of #100in1DayTO today!#100in1Day https://t.co/WK2CC5n46s
